AFROTECH Activation: Preserving the Legacy

November 15 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for an impactful panel discussion in partnership with the Freedmen’s Town Conservancy as we explore the vital intersection of real estate development and the preservation of historic Black communities. Our conversation will focus on socially responsible strategies for redevelopment that honor the cultural and historical significance of neighborhoods like Freedmen’s Town, while also addressing the economic needs of the present day.

Our panel of experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities in developing real estate projects that protect and uplift historically Black communities, prevent displacement, and create pathways for long-term wealth generation for current residents. Whether you’re a real estate professional, community advocate, or someone interested in the future of equitable development, this event will offer valuable insights into how we can all play a role in protecting these essential pieces of our shared history.

Topics Covered:

• The role of real estate in preserving cultural heritage

• Avoiding displacement and fostering community wealth

• Strategies for sustainable, equitable development

• Case studies from Freedmen’s Town and beyond

Let’s come together to ensure that historic Black communities are not only remembered, but actively preserved and celebrated through thoughtful, community-centered development.
