Ink In Motion: Dancing Our Narratives

Explore cultural storytelling through movement and writing! With the choreography of Nia’s Daughters and Filipino Young Professionals, participants will be encouraged to engage in a movement activity, and draw connections between live traditional African and Filipino dance performances through an Inprint Writing Workout, guided by instructor and poet Joshua Burton.
This workshop is in partnership with Inprint, Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective, Filipino Young Professionals for Houston and Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy.
Registration is $5. All ages and writing levels are welcome.
Parking is available at African American History Research Center parking lot at 1300 Victor Street.
Announcement: Attendees, please bring a comfortable cushion to sit on and wear comfortable clothes for dancing and movement.
