The Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy is excitedly working to rebuild this community one brick at a time through special projects and initiatives. Here is what’s happening in Freedmen’s Town!
The Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that protects and preserves the history of Freedmen’s Town for the benefit of future generations. We support community engagement, re-education, and heritage tourism.
Funding has been provided to the Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021.
